About Me

From a young age, I adored the brilliant illustrations in the picture books my older siblings read to me. I pored over each detail of the images on the pages. Wanting to create my own versions of art, I'd try to imitate the drawings mixing colors from my small box of crayons. The end result was often dreary and disappointing. As a high school student, I discovered a variety of mediums and was immersed in techniques which kept me curious and determined to create. In college, I explored pottery, glass blowing, jewelry, drawing and painting.

While living in New Mexico I was introduced to Georgia O'Keeffe's work and admired her ability to seize the bright clean light and make ordinary objects striking. I began my own experimenting with large canvas paintings capturing explosive views of the natural world.

I’ve called Colorado home for more than two decades, and it is here that the sweeping views and expansive outdoor beauty has become my muse. Capturing a scene and its glistening light, bold composition, and vibrant color creates a soulful connection for me that I want to share with the observer.

I earned my degree in Fine Art from Illinois State University and worked as a graphic artist. I live in Loveland, Colorado, with my husband and rescue dog. When I'm not in my studio, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, birdwatching and gardening.
